Autumn 2010 looks like it will bring a mixture of weather but nothing exceptional. Things will start off on a dry note as August comes to an end and the nights turn slightly cooler. During September the weather will be fairly bland and cloudy at times and the temperatures will not be as high as they have been at times in previous Septembers. A brief period of warm weather is not out of the question for early October but with the nights now getting much shorter this is indeed going to be very short lived and this brings us on to October which is traditionally a wet and windy month in Ireland and it does not look like 2010 will be any different. It is hard to pinpoint at present but the floods of 2009 should not be repeated in 2010 though there may be some days of heavy rainfall it has to be remembered that the floods of 2009 were contributed to by a very high water table from inundation and saturation from the previous few months large quantities of rain and the high amount of moisture in the atmosphere as a result. 2010 has not had the same rain volumes with the exception of July
